How old do I have to be to enter?
Contestants applying for the Miss Ukrainian Canada contest must be at least 18 and under 30 years old.

Do I have to be born in Ukraine?
To participate in the Miss Ukrainian Canada contest you must be of Ukrainian descent.

Do I have to be bilingual?
English and Ukrainian are the official languages of the Miss Ukrainian Canada contest. While being bilingual is always an asset, it is not a requirement. You can participate if you can speak at least one of the languages. You can also choose to speak either English or Ukrainian during the show.

 I am only 150 cm tall, and have been told I cannot model, so does that mean I cannot win the title of Miss Ukrainian Canada?
As it is not a beauty pageant, neither height nor weight has bearing on the Miss Ukrainian Canada competition. To us, being 150 cm is just as beautiful as being 175 cm. This contest is about you and your talent shining on the scene!

I do not have any experience, can I still apply?
You do not need experience to participate in the Miss Ukrainian Canada – that is where the workshops and training come in. However, we highly encourage you to showcase your talent or present your outstanding personal achievements (sports, academic, volunteer work, etc.) during the competition.

What is the humanitarian purpose of the Miss Ukrainian Canada contest?
Every year the Organizing Committee determines a specific humanitarian objective of the contest, such as a humanitarian aid to Ukraine-based orphanages, wounded soldiers, or Ukrainian volunteer organizations contributing to the community. Thus, competing for a title like Miss Ukrainian Canada comes with a range of responsibilities including your role as a goodwill ambassador contributing to the chosen humanitarian purpose of the event. But don’t worry – we are here to guide you the whole way through.

Can I compete if I have a child?
As this contest breaks stereotypes of the beauty pageants, a Miss Ukrainian Canada contestant may be married, divorced, had a marriage annulled or given birth to a child.

How are contestants judged?
There are several levels of scoring for the pageant. Each area represents a percentage of your total score. You are judged on your personality, your ability to communicate, stage presence, charm, academics, commitment to the community, beauty, elegance and confidence.

 What if I got into some trouble with the law?
Without exceptions, all contestant must be of good moral character, have no explicit photos of any kind in any medium nor a criminal record.

 Is there an application fee?
No, application submissions are free.
